Bio:
Formed in 1991 in Noise City, Bulgaria, IRA DEUM were one of the most famous brutal bands of the 90's at this little godforsaken place in Eastern Europe. Unfortunately, the unmerciful reality in this former soc-country made them to make the decision to end their careers because of lot of things, mostly the post-socialist circumstances. Anyway, the story of this band begins in June 1991, when Dickens (guitar) and Fox (bass&vocals) (ex-Antares, Trus, Bonum Est, Jolly Roger) decided to change the wave they follow until then, namely melody metal, with more brutal and actual at this time thrash metal, drawing aside them The Curse (drums&backing vocals) (ex-Invader, Technofobia) and Lazy (guitar) (ex-Aggression, Fire&Dust). After gaining local popularity at first, they reach to wider fame, winning the national rock song conquering at 1993 and then record their debut, named "Anger of the Gods", reached good (for this kind of music) market positions on this poor imitation of reality, called "bulgarian music market". Songs like "Lobotomy", "The Story of a Spirit", "Ashes&Dust", "Total Death" and "Orpheus in the Shades' Kingdom" make the headbangers to lose their mind. Betrayed by their label "Unison Stars", they decide to use another BG label for the second album. But BG is BG. Nothing better with the second release, called "Reincarnation of the Immortal Evil" (1995, "Riva Sound"). No promotion, no tour, no merchandising, no anything. Sweet bulgarian picture. There were few ways. Turn to commercialism (including playing covers in little clubs, etc.), bending to s'thing more actual (like death-metal, power-groove, neo-metal, etc.), s'thing like that. They choose the end. Better to remember your candid works, no matter successful or not. Better be yourself. Better say "STOP", until you are still clearly recognized. So we said. And today we say "HELLO AGAIN!" We are full of new ideas and we are so impatient to share those with all of You! The new album is on the run! It would be released as soon as possible and it's gonna kick a lot af asses!
